Sandie
Witmer
An
alumnus of the University of Miami with a major in
Marketing and a minor in Psychology, Sandie Witmer
is a visionary with a talent for understanding consumer
behavior and perceiving new trends in the retail real
estate industry before they emerge. Her experience
working for regional and national developers such
as The Green Company and The Rouse Company in the
80's allowed her to test her insights and provided
the springboard toward creating a new kind of company.
At the start of any great enterprise, there has to
be a great idea. As a principal of Retail Estate,
Sandie Witmer is the idea person, who developed a new philosophy in retail real estate
and development. Proactive instead of reactive, their
goal was to identify voids in the market place and
attack them with ingenuity, creativity and unconventionality.
In other words, see what is not there and make things
happen, think outside the box and color outside the
lines.
Using this unique attitude, Sandie has recruited and
trained one of the most successful leasing staffs
in the country on a variety of real estate venues,
from strip and community centers to historic and city
government projects to urban and lifestyle developments
to regional malls. Starting with the birth of the
pioneering and award winning project, CocoWalk, Sandie
has lead her team in concept development, from the
visualization to the implementation of next generation
retail. She has foreseen the journey from festival
market to urban entertainment center to suburban town
center.
Sandie is a licensed Florida real estate broker and
an active member of the International Council of Shopping
Centers (ICSC). On a personal level, she contributes
to numerous charitable organizations and is actively
involved in Stop Hunger Now.
